Trendy Entertainment announced the Barbarian class for Dungeon Defenders 2. The character is classified as a melee bruiser that can really pack a punch. The Barbarian is a bit low in defense and ability, but makes up for it in impressive stats in attack, although he may be a bit difficult to use.
The Barbarian is the sixth class of 24 to be announced for Dungeon Defenders 2. Others include a melee tank class character called the Rider, a melee carry class called the Prisoner, one class called the Huntress who’s a ranged carry character, and a few more.
The Barbarian class, like the others, has four unique skills and a hero spell. The first skill is called Anger Management. This skill allows the Barbarian to switch his stance within battle. He has an offensive stance which will increase the already high attack, or he can alter to a defensive position which will not only boost his low defense, but will increase health and mana regeneration as well.
Primal Impact is the second skill that works in unison with Anger Management. Primal Impact works in both offensive and defensive stances, but will yield different results. If the skill is used while the characters stance is offensive, the attack will be even greater while lowering the enemies’ speed. If the character’s stance is defensive, the attack will knock the enemy back and will stun them if they collide with the terrain.
The third skill is one that was learned in the homeland of the Barbarian called Predatory Leap. The character leaps into the air and comes crashing down with a devastating force on the unfortunate enemy.
The fourth and final skill is called Onslaught. When the battle is too much to handle, this skill can be used. The attack and movement speed of the Barbarian is increased even more, and he gains the ability to hit all targets in sight.
The ability each hero possess is called a Hero Spell. Each is unique to every character. Predatory Instinct belongs to the Barbarian. This spell works well with the Prisoner and the Huntress. The player gains anywhere from 20% to 40% attack speed and anywhere from 30 to 150 movement speed for each nearby enemy hero below 60% health.
The Barbarian will be a playable class is the player versus player mode of Dungeon Defenders 2. The mode is similar to games such as DotA 2 and League of Legends. This mode will be available alongside the original cooperative style gameplay that veteran players of Dungeon Defenders know and love.
The PvP mode of Dungeon Defenders 2 is in closed beta right now. Those that would like to play the cooperative game mode will have to wait until the end of the year for it to release.
