Supergiant Games, creators of Bastion, have announced the release date of their next game on the eve of PAX East. Transistor will be released on May 20 for PS4 and PC in North America for $19.99, and May 21 in Europe for 18.99 euros/14.99 pounds. The game will be playable this weekend at PAX East 2014.
We last got our hands on Transistor back at PAX Prime last year and came away quite impressed with what we saw. The story acts as a spiritual successor to Bastion–which Supergiant Games released in 2011–follows main character Red, and her sword “The Transistor,” which gives her the ability to halt combat and plan attacks. The sword carries a soul inside it that will be able to speak, and is voiced by the famous Bastion voice actor Logan Cunningham.
Transistor was first revealed at last year’s PAX East by its San Francisco-based developer. Look forward to more Transistor news from the PAX East show floor this weekend and a full review of the game right here at Indie Game Insider when it releases later next month.
